STUDIO RENTALS

Dogtown Dance Theatre’s two studios are attractive, light spaces ideal for comapny rehearsals, choreography sessions, and dance classes of all kinds. Each studio floor has floating hardwood. The rooms are equipped with dance barres on least one wall, portable barres, and full-length mirrors on walls, and a sound system.  A handicapped-accessible restroom is located on the 1st floor of the facility. 

      

  •  Studio 1 (First Floor) -  42.5’x27′ of unobstructed space

  •  Studio 2 (Third Floor) - 25’x31′ of unobstructed space

 

All renters must sign the Studio Rental Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Credit/Debit Card Authorization before using Dogtown Dance Theatre’s studio space or main theatre. Please read the entire document carefully. Signed documents will remain on file for one calendar year from the date of signing.

Please Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on Dogtown property.

 

Rental Fees
Studios are available for rent at an hourly rate. For classes, workshops, model calls, and/or photo shoots, the rental fee is $25 per hour. For general rehearsals, the rental fee is $15 per hour.

 

Studio Rental Policies

  • One time/drop-in renters must pay in full before going into the studio. Drop-in renters are also required to fill out the Studio Agreement Form, Credit Card Authorization Form, and Liability Waiver to be kept on file.

  • Ongoing (weekly, every other week) renters must pay in full by the 15th of the month. In some cases, patrons may pay a PREDETERMINED hourly rate prior to use of the studio each occurrence. These agreements must be made in writing with the Director.

  • Rent can be paid by card, cash, or check, but all renters must have a valid credit/debit card on file to rent any Dogtown studio. This is to protect Dogtown in case of no show, late cancellation, or delinquent accounts. ● Going over rental time will result in a fee. Renters that go over their scheduled time by 10 minutes will be charged for an additional half hour.

  • Cancellation Policy: To receive a full refund or to avoid having to pay for a booking, reservations must be canceled 48 hours prior. Cancellations must be emailed to jess@dogtowndancetheatre.com / chris@dogtowndancetheatre.com. Cancellations within less than 48 hours of reservations will be require full payment. The 48 hour cancellation policy is in place so that Dogtown has adequate time to rebook space to prevent loss of income.

  • No show renters or late rent will be charged full amount due via card on file. If one-time rental, card will be charged the day of the reservation. If ongoing renter, card will be charged full amount 16th of the month with the convenience fee (6.25%) and a late fee (1.5%) added. If payment via card is declined for a no show, renter is banned from making a reservation until payment received and valid credit is acquired. If rent is late consistently, Dogtown reserves the right to deny any future reservations.

  • All rental reservations are made with the understanding that Dogtown Dance Theatre may cancel one or more dates of the reservation if the space is needed for a Dogtown Dance Theatre production (see Cancellations section below). Your reservation will not be considered final until Dogtown Dance Theatre has received your studio agreement paperwork.

  • Single or multi-day rentals (not considered ongoing) must be paid for in advance before the reservation time. Prepayment will be accepted at any time, but no later than the start time of the reservation.

  • Dogtown Dance Theatre accepts payment by cash, check, or credit card. An additional processing fee will be applied to all credit card payments. All returned checks will be assessed a $20.00 fee.

 

Cancellations

  • Renters may cancel their reservation(s) for a full refund no later than two business days before the reservation.

  • Cancellations must be made in writing by email (jess@dogtowndancetheatre.com/ chris@dogtowndancetheatre.com )

  • Cancellations made less than 2 business days in advance will not be refunded and the total rent due will be charged to the card on file.

  • Dogtown Dance Theatre reserves the right to cancel any reservation date(s) if the space is needed for a Dogtown Dance Theatre production. In the event of such a cancellation, the renter will be given the choice of receiving a refund for the amount of time lost or a credit for an equivalent amount of time at a future date.

  • In the event that Dogtown Dance Theatre is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the renter will be given a choice of receiving a refund for the amount of time lost, or a credit for an equivalent amount of time at a future date.

 

Studio Use Rules

  • Be considerate of other renters’ time. If another renter is using the space immediately before your start time, please wait in the lounge or lobby. Plan to vacate the studio promptly by the end of your scheduled time, so that the renter following you may make full use of their allotted time.

  • If you begin your use of the studio after your scheduled start time for any reason whatsoever, you may not extend your scheduled end time without prior approval. If you wish to extend your scheduled end time, you will be required to pay for the additional time.

  • Food, chewing gum, and beverages other than water in a closed container are not permitted in either dance studio.

  • Smoking, vaping, and consumption of alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere in the building. ● All renters must clean up after themselves, including the lounge.

  • If you go beyond 10 mins past your rental reservation, you will be charged for a full half hour at your rate. 

  • The rental reservation does not include time to set up or break down, so if you need additional time to set up or break down that time must be rented.

  • Candles, incense, and flames of any sort are not permitted anywhere in the building.

  • Animals are not permitted anywhere in the building, with the exception of working service animals.

  • All children must be under adult supervision at all times. Children are not to run around the building unattended during your booked reservation slot.

  • Dogtown Dance Theatre is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Do not leave your belongings unattended.

 

Shoes

  • Any shoes worn in the dance studios or main theatre must be clean and dry with non-marking soles.

  • The following restrictions also apply: Main theatre: Tap shoes and hard-soled Irish shoes may not be used on the wood floor. Rosin, street shoes, and high heels may not be used on the marley.

  • Third floor studio: Rosin, high heels, hard-soled shoes, and street shoes may not be used in this studio.

  • Dogtown Dance Theatre reserves the right to restrict or prohibit the use of other types of footwear not specifically mentioned in this section.

 

Insurance

All renters, particularly teachers, are strongly encouraged to carry their own general liability insurance. Dogtown Dance Theatre may require proof of insurance prior to approving rentals and reserves the right to deny any rental request based on insufficiency of insurance as determined by Dogtown Dance Theatre.
