INTERNSHIPS & WORK-STUDY

Internship Program

 

Dogtown Dance Theatre offers part-time, non-paid internship positions for credit and non-credit. Interns receive hands-on experience and resume-building skills in all aspects of Dogtown Dance Theatre's operations, including:

 

  • Technical operations of the theatre

  • Performance production and event planning

  • Fundraising, PR, and marketing

  • Non-profit arts administration

 

Dogtown Dance Theatre internships last approximately 5 months and typically follow college semesters - Spring (Jan. - May), Summer (May - Sept.), and Fall (Sept. - Jan.). Work-Study Program

 

Dogtown Dance Theatre partners with the VCU Work-Study program to provide students with support for their education while engaging and helping the theatre. 

 

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program is an employment and need-based program subsidized by the federal government that allows students to earn wages in special student employment positions. To apply for FWS, students must submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form no later than March 1 of each year to be considered for a Federal Work-Study Award for the upcoming academic year.

 

Dogtown offers positions for work-study in the following: 

 

  • Operations of the theatre

  • Fundraising, PR, and marketing

  • Non-profit arts administration
