Dogtown Dance Theatre and its programs are operated by Dogtown Arts Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. The mission of Dogtown Arts Foundation is to cultivate, promote, foster, sponsor, develop, and encourage understanding of and public interest in the fields of theatre, dance and the arts. The foundation serves the region with diverse programs to enhance the quality of the arts in Richmond.
If the Center Stage complex in downtown Richmond serves as a Broadway away from New York City, then Dogtown Dance Theatre promises an equally critical factor of a city’s creative health: a thriving Off-Broadway scene where independent artists and small companies can afford the time and space to create and present their work in a facility designed with them in mind.
Ground Zero Dance is the resident company at Dogtown Dance Theatre, working with Dogtown Arts Foundation to develop partnerships with other arts organizations, and programs benefiting the Manchester and greater Richmond communities.
The renovation of the building at 109 W. 15th Street has been spearheaded and funded by Dogtown Dance LLC. It now rests with Dogtown Arts Foundation (with support & outreach from Ground Zero Dance) to raise funds for the technical upfit of the theatre space including risers, lighting and sound equipment. This is an ongoing effort, with a budget of approximately $250,000.
Your tax-deductible donations in support of theatre upfit and ongoing operations are welcome! Checks payable to Dogtown Arts Foundation may be mailed to 11359 Saddlewood Lane, Rockville, VA 23146, and online donation may be made by clicking on the JustGive icon below.
